As department manager, digital marketing for Mercedes-Benz USA (MBUSA), Eric Jillard is responsible for managing the strategy and execution of all elements related to Mercedes-Benz internet marketing in the U.S., including overseeing the company's public web sites, such as its main public site, www.MBUSA.com, which receives an average of nearly three million visitors monthly. Jillard also leads the digital marketing team on initiatives involving search marketing, online advertising, and design and production by the internal digital media team. Jillard reports directly to MBUSA's Vice President of Marketing Stephen Cannon.
Prior to being appointed this position in January 2008, Jillard was vice president of strategy at iCrossing, Inc. (formerly Proxicom, Inc.), where he led the business analysis, optimization, and strategic planning functions. During his eight years there, he managed digital strategy, web development, and online marketing initiatives for a variety of auto industry clients, including Volkswagen of America, Chase Auto Finance, GMAC, and Subaru of America.
For the two years previous, Jillard worked for Mercedes-Benz Credit Corp as a team member of internet business development where he worked across all lines of business to conceive, launch, and manage digital initiatives. From 1996 to 1998, Jillard was manager, interactive marketing for the Hertz Corporation where he worked on strategies and developments for the company's websites and online advertising.
With a Master's degree in International Management from Thunderbird School of Global Management in Glendale, Ariz., Jillard also holds his degree of Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Delaware, Newark, Delaware. Jillard currently resides in Maplewood, NJ with his wife Meaghan.
